Greats and Grans/ANZAC Day
We had a fantastic time making our picture frames with our whanau and they joined us for maorning tea. We celebrated ANZAC with songs and a small ceremony. It was a very moving time commented on by many.
ALIM Sessions
I am a week and a half in to the teaching sessions with my withdraw group and in class group for ALIM. Sessions are going well, the children are enjoying the group work. I can see already some progress and also places to revisit. All part of the ongoing learning. Tino pai!

I attended the two training days in Tauranga for ALIM. They were full on, with lots of information, suggestions, examples of what the ALIM programme will entail. It was great getting together with many teachers all preparing to facilitate the teaching and learning to boost the children's achievement.

Language and Learning Intervention
Language and Learning Intervention Workshop
Held on the 25.3.2015 at Reap.
Teachers and teacher aides from three other schools were there. It was a very interesting and informative day, There were many suggestions to help children with language difficulties.We set goals and worked out lesson plans for our focus child. An excellent day and lots of laughs too!

House of Science
One the 3rd March House of Science Peter and Louise visited and showed the science kits. Nature of Science and Forensics kits. They can be ordered and contain all the elements needed to carry out the teaching and learning of the topic. A very comprehensive list of topics, allowing children to make observations predictions cooperative learning, etc.

An introduction to the House of Science Activity Boxes. We will be able to borrow them from Reap. They cover a variety of experiments. It was great fun.

Robyn Harawera presented a session on childrens's behaviour and how to look beyond the obvious misbehaving and find the underlying cause of inappropriate behaviour. Ouote - 'The presenting problem is not always the real problem.' She gave some suggestions and ideas on how to approach problem behaviour and find out why this behaviour is happening.
